that are important to the individual and their circumstances.
AMAS Management Style:
AMAS Inc. has a philosophy of participative management with principle-centered
leadership. All staff are a vital part of the entire team. They are encouraged
and supported to reach their own potential and goals. Our staff are taught to
promote self determination, and to involve individuals in the decision-making
process. They are also trained to support individuals/families in making informed
choices and decisions. AMAS staff are trained to communicate with individuals
in a positive and empowering manner. Our staff are also skilled in developing
plans/resources to assist individual to overcome barriers to achieving outcomes.
Legal & Ethical Guidelines:
Amas staff follow strict Legal and Ethical Guidelines. These
include addressing the vulnerability needs of the program individuals and maintaining
confidentiality and privacy. At AMAS, we affirm problem solving ability of the
program individual, and their worth and dignity. We inform individuals of their
Rights/Eligibility for service and we act to facilitate informed consent and
due process. We are committed to honest communication, and we take appropriate
steps to increase program individual's choices. We are committed to empowerment,
co-planning, contracting and evaluation. We terminate services when goal(s)
has been achieved.
We actively promote individual choices while assisting individual to explore
their unique interests, talents and potential so that they can live a happy,
successful and fulfilling life. Our staff always have a working knowledge of
individuals' action plan and risk management plan. Our staff provide support
to individuals in leisure/social activities and personal outcomes with services
only when needed. We are responsible for the immediate health and safety of
the individual receiving services. All Amas staff receive training in medication
administration, first aid, C.P.R and emergency care procedures. Our outreach
staff must pass a county/state background check prior to having a direct contact
with the individual. It is also mandatory that our outreach staff attend vulnerable
adult training to review the reporting procedures, program abuse prevention
plan, and the individual abuse prevention plan.
