The following lists specific contracted services provided by AMAS Incorporated:
Respite Services:
More children and adults with developmental disabilities live in their natural
family homes. When caregivers are not provided with consistent respite services,
the risk of maltreatment is increased. Our outreach staff provide supervision,
assistance and care to relief the consumers' families/primary care giver. We
provide in-home respite, community/school site services.
Respite services are available days and evenings. A family desiring assistance
with respite services could simply contact AMAS Incorporated. Our respite services
differs from the traditional models' on which many of the systems that work
with families are based.

2. We respond quickly to needs.
3. We offer support at times and locations convenient to the caregivers and
allow follow up phone calls whenever caregivers need support.
4. The intensity and array of respite services are individually based on the
caregivers' needs and level of support.
5. Our respite services are family focused, time limited, and objective-oriented.
6. We help to prevent crisis by meeting needs early.
7. We offer help meeting basic needs and special services.

9. We build on strength. At AMAS, we believe that strengths are what ultimately
resolves issues of concern.

In-Home Family Support:
AMAS outreach staff provide supervision and assistance to waiver recipient
in the recipient's home or in the community. Our staff assist recipients to
achieve increased independence, and gain access to their community resources
and activities. Amas staff will come to your home to assit and support you with
your daily activities in order to help your family care for you. Our staff will
help you while you learn new skills. They will involve you and your family to
facilitate a greater understanding of the support for your needs as they relate
to your care. You and your family or legal guardian will be given the opportunity
to determine the support and services you feel would be most beneficial. The
frequency of staff visits will be determined by you, your family, your county
social worker, and your guardance/conservator.
Supported Living Services (SLS):
Our SLS program goal is to facilitate integration into community
life for each individual. Services are designed to empower individuals to exercise
choices, live a self-determined life, and teach functional skills and to model
effective healthy relationship-building. Our SLS program provides the following
basic services:
1. Lodging
2. Food
3. Household and assistance with daily living skills
4. Supervision
5. Money Management
6. Community integration
7. Contact with family friends and significant others
The guiding program philosophy for our SLS is based on the belief that community
integration and positive therapeutic relationships will produce alternatives
to institutionalized expectations and behavior management. Formal behavior management
techniques is utilized in the teaching of adaptive behavior.
SILS Services:
AMAS Semi-Independent Living Services (SILS) Program is designed to meet the
specific needs of persons with disabilities as they live in a semi-independent
living environment. Our SILS program outlines a specific set of services and
tasks specifically selected for each participant. The program is designed to
work on identified areas of services. AMAS SILS program is designed to eliminate
in individuals the barriers to living independently or risks involved in group
home placement.
